MCCARTER ARTS is dedicated to promoting writing and art, connecting individuals to creative outlets, and to promoting wellness through the arts. I believe that art and writing should be accessible to all and that creativity is a process that can be learned. I work with individual learning abilities to encourage artistic expression and personal growth. I teach classes with empathy for the learner and guide them through their individual writing and creative processes.
About Mel McCarter
Melissa McCarter is a writer, artist, and teaching artist. She received her BA in English from Vassar College and her MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She holds several creative certificates such as Teaching Writing Process from Johns Hopkins and has taught writing workshops. Her poetry has been published in anthologies, and her poetry erasures and lit art paintings have been exhibited in Hudson Valley art galleries.
